Textile Prints for Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson

Tiger, tiger, burning bright opens William Blake's memorable poem. Just as Blake's tiger burns bright, so too Claudia Caviezel's range of wild cat prints for Jakob Schlaepfer burn with wildly intense colours and patterns. Chosen by Vivienne Westwood for her prêt-à-porter Autumn 2009 and 2011 collections, Caviezel's cat prints include a jagged ikat-like tiger stripe overlaid with vivid spot-on-spot patterns, and leopard prints that feature the wild cat's rosette enclosed spots in versions ranging from cat-eyed green that glows as though spied through night vision goggles, to a scarlet version whose dense spots resemble a leopard camouflaged in a field of wild poppies.
