Swiss interior architects Dobas AG invited Claudia Caviezel to design a landscape mural for a feature wall in a luxury fashion boutique for women in Qatar. Dobas designed pierced space dividers based on traditional geometric Islamic mashrabiya privacy screens. In addition to Caviezel's main mural behind the sales desk, Dobas placed screens over backlit details of her design. Pinpoints of LED lights appear in random mode to animate Caviezel's landscape and create a reference to the historical importance of mashrabiya to create worlds of the simultaneously seen and unseen. Caviezel's flora and fauna – some exquisitely embroidered then digitally scanned for the textile print - create an illusion of being immersed – and hidden - in a blissful private bower.
