Claudia Caviezel's kelim collection reflects the traditional techniques used to weave nomadic tribal flatweave rugs, but she updates tradition with new patterns and gradient-dyed yarns interwoven to create a shifting pattern of dégradé colours. Caviezel intersects her contemporary stripes with rectangular blocks of gradient patterns to create an overall effect of fresh contemporary kelims for the 21st century. Each rug is unique and the beauty of the intentionally basic, coarse weave is enhanced by its affordability.
