Claudia Caviezel designed and created her inaugural six-piece handmade ceramics collection during an Atelier Pfister-supported residency at a ceramics manufacturer in Portugal. Caviezel's flowing three-dimensional surface glaze combines traditional ceramic techniques with her experiments with sprayed glaze to create a modern craft object. Caviezel created a process whereby the reactive glazes are controlled yet also allowed to respond uniquely during two firings to create her one-of-a-kind pieces whose 3D surfaces invite haptic exploration and visual contemplation.
