This prestigious award originated as a way to encourage, support, and publicly recognise the global importance of Swiss design. Claudia Caviezel was awarded the Swiss Grand Prix for Design in recognition of the unique way she combines the traditions of Swiss textile patterns, design, and manufacturing with a fresh international outlook, contemporary patterns and colourways, and a mix of handmade and digital processes. The Grand Prix comes with a year-long financial stipend to provide the awardee with the freedom to pursue research and design goals.
