Caviezel's tapestry Glitch is site-specific to a landing on a staircase at Kunstmuseum St Gallen. Printed on luxurious cotton velour which creates a sumptuous theatrical quality, the tapestry design was created by manipulating two textiles using analogue and digital techniques. The result is a vivid terrain of colourful high voltage glitches some of which echo the vertical shaped spindles of the grand staircase. As visitors climb the stairs they enter Glitch's immersive environment. In parallel to Pipilotti Rist's screen-based work Das Zimmer in the room beyond, Glitch is textile as television. It encourages visitors to imagine or reimagine how to tune a moving image so the mind can slip into a dynamic world of art.
