Caviezel's inspiration for her interactive Carpet Carrelage was her 2016 Andeer rug collection for Atelier Pfister, which was in turn inspired by her beloved childhood interchangeable wooden puzzle block game. Installed at Caviezel's Caleidoscope exhibition at Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Carpet Carrelage allowed visitors to arrange up to sixteen 40 x 40 cm carpet tiles to create a 1.44 sm design block. Hand tufted in an Indian workshop introduced to her by Niels Blättler, each double-dyed tile is unique in colour and pattern. The tabletop “play” area encouraged collaboration between visitors. Natural materials and the interactive art angle united to create an unintentional simulacrum of a Waldorf-Steiner-like learning environment.
