Collaboration is a hallmark of Caviezel's career. The designer for the exhibition poster was an essential component to ensure the poster became an effective “messenger” to announce the exhibition to online and “real world” audiences.
Designer Giliane Cachin was commissioned. She understood that to capture the essence of Caviezel's oeuvre there should be no fixed single image, but rather an image that could evolve. An unused design from Caviezel's archive became the poster's base design. Cachin settled on silkscreen as the medium most suitable to respond to variations in Caviezel's work. She layered two gradients and chose Lineto's LL Medium typeface. The result is a poster as “plastic medium” where each iteration is subtly different from the next.
